The Clarinéo 2.0 With the NUVO Clarinéo 2.0, children as young as 4 can learn to play the clarinet. Many woodwind instruments have a reed (made of wood or synthetic material) attached to the underside of the mouthpiece. When you blow into the instrument, the reed vibrates to produce a sound. The reed on the Clarinéo 2.0 is made of durable synthetic material. The mouthpiece and reed have a guide no tch that allows for a child-friendly placement of the reed. As with all NUVO instruments, the NUVO Clarinéo 2.0 is also built in the basic key of C. It is lighter and smaller than a B-flat clarinet and has a full, soft tone. Without transposing, you can play all the notes of a C voice: recorder, piano, flute, or vocal notes. This makes it particularly suitable for basic, general music education. I
