The H3A smooths out the top end of the H3 with Alnico instead of ceramic magnets. This model utilizes over wound coils while the Alnico V magnets smooth out the highs, giving the pickup a semi-compressed feel. These design elements ensure that the tone is very well balanced, with even highs and mids while retaining great harmonic content. You can hear each string ring clearly without any added mud.
In the neck position, this pickup has a almost P90 quality, making it great for rhythm or punchy leads. In the bridge position, the H3A provides plenty of top end without overwhelming the overall balance of your guitar.
