Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Custom 1963 Firebird I Reissue — Cardinal Red
Epiphone and Gibson™ Custom have teamed up once again to create the updated Inspired by Gibson Custom 1963 Firebird I — an authentic replica of the guitar designed by legendary automotive designer Ray Dietrich. When it launched in 1963, the Firebird™ was Gibson's first neck-through-body model, and it went on to be played across genres by Johnny Winter, Keith Richards and Brian Jones of The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, and Phil Manzanera of Roxy Music.
This updated reissue delivers vintage Firebird specifications at an accessible price: 9-ply mahogany/walnut neck-through-body construction with mahogany body wings in a new Vintage Gloss Cardinal Red finish, a rosewood fretboard, and a genuine Gibson USA Firebird mini humbucker with Alnico 5 magnets, hand-wired to CTS potentiometers and a Mallory capacitor. Period-correct details run from the Kluson banjo-style planetary tuners to the historic three-position strap buttons — and it ships in a hardshell case with the Inspired by Gibson Custom logo.
