The Ibanez AZ series redefines versatility and has earned a permanent place in the world of electric guitars—from warm, expressive blues licks to intense, shred-heavy metal riffs. It combines proven Ibanez innovation with player-friendly design: the ergonomically shaped oval neck, asymmetrical, well-balanced body, and optimized neck heel provide unparalleled playability and effortless access to the upper frets.

The roasted maple neck, heat-treated for maximum stability, durability, and moisture resistance, is perfectly complemented by the reddish-brown jatoba fingerboard, which delivers rich mids and clear highs. Jumbo stainless steel frets ensure precise response, effortless articulation, and long life. The alder body delivers a balanced, bright tone with rich resonance and sustain.

The Ibanez Classic Custom pickups offer a versatile tonal palette that combines the warm, clear tone of the Alnico neck and middle single coils with the powerful, dynamic performance of the ceramic humbucker at the bridge. The result is a precise, expressive tone that is ideal for both smooth, bluesy melodies and assertive rock and metal riffs. Locking tuners ensure stable tuning, while the T106 tremolo with six individually adjustable saddles allows for precise pitch and intonation adjustment of each string. The dyna-MIX9 circuit with Alter Switch offers nine sound variations and allows quick switching between humbucker and single-coil modes, including a setting that simulates the humbucker sound from the combination of two single coils.

The instrument is rounded off by the Super All Access Neck Joint, which facilitates access to the upper frets and takes the playing feel to a new level. The AZ series thus stands for perfect handling, versatility, and the characteristic Ibanez sound—an instrument for musicians who seek maximum freedom in every style of playing.
