The Ibanez AM was first introduced in the early 1980s and has since established itself as a compact semi-hollow guitar with impressive sonority. Despite its smaller body, it delivers a warm, powerful tone with long sustain—while offering a familiar feel for guitarists who are more accustomed to solid-body instruments. It combines the best of both worlds: the characterful sound of a semi-acoustic and the comfortable handling of a classic electric guitar. The Artcore series, which includes the AM, was introduced in 2002 and quickly established itself as a fixture among hollow-body guitars. Thanks to the successful combination of high-quality workmanship, excellent sound quality, and affordable price, it is equally popular with musicians of various styles, from blues and country to jazz and rock. Artcore guitars stand for authentic tone, expressive playability, and remarkable versatility. The nyatoh neck provides rich midrange and low-end response, while the rosewood fingerboard delivers a balanced, focused tone. Medium-sized frets ensure precise playability and high intonation accuracy. The basswood top, sides, and back produce a natural, clear sound with harmonic balance across the entire frequency spectrum. The characteristic sound is provided by the Classic Elite pickups, which impress with their nuanced tonal variety and powerful bass response. The Gibraltar Performer bridge ensures excellent sustain and stable tuning, while the Quik Change III tailpiece allows for quick and comfortable string changes.
