The Ibanez AF is the most traditional model in the Artcore series. With its fully hollow construction, which does not feature any sound blocks in the body, it produces a rich, complex tone with a clear voice and full body—qualities that are particularly appreciated by discerning jazz musicians. The Artstar series combines the history of jazz with the development of the hollow-body electric guitar at the highest professional level. Clear influences from legendary instruments can be seen in details such as the bone saddle, ebony fingerboard, and Ibanez's signature Super 58 Custom pickups. Discerning players will appreciate the attention to detail, such as the smooth fretboard surface and precise fretting, which are usually only found on instruments that cost twice as much. The Artstar embodies the classic jazz box heritage and the continuous evolution of the genre. The three-piece nyatoh/maple neck provides a rich midrange and bass foundation as well as excellent resonance, while the Macassar ebony fingerboard delivers tight bass, fast response, and long-lasting sustain. Medium frets with Artstar Edge processing guarantee precise playability and a particularly smooth performance. The spruce top enriches the sound with a sensitive response, while the flamed maple back and sides produce a bright, assertive tone. The Super 58 pickups deliver medium output and a classic vintage sound, while the rosewood bridge and VT14 tailpiece ensure stable tuning, rich sustain, and comfortable playability. The instrument is rounded off by a sturdy Ibanez hardshell case that provides optimal protection for the guitar. The AF Artstar is therefore the perfect choice for jazz musicians who are looking for a classic, full-bodied sound with the highest quality craftsmanship.
