The Suhr Eclipse is a versatile, no compromise, dualchannel overdrive/distortion that delivers a wealth of warm, organic amp-like tones in an easy to use, compact form factor. Eclipse’s incredible versatility stems from its powerful and intuitive two channel circuit design. Each channel is completely independent, and features its own Gain, Level and 3-Band passive EQ, similar to a channel switching amplifier.
Eclipse™, Dual-Channel Overdrive/Distortion
The Suhr Eclipse dual-channel overdrive/distortion pedal is a fully customizable dual-channel dirt and distortion box that overshadows yesteryear’s more limited features.
The Eclipse is an amp-like canvas with two identical sections, each with its own footswitch. Each channel provides Level and Gain controls, plus 3-band EQ sections for shaping everything from high-gain scooped distortion to medium-gain crunch and mid-forward drives for lifting solos and leads. The global Voice control fuels convenient top-end tweaking that changes the overall presence and harmonic voice, and you can use it to tune the Eclipse to different rigs, pickups, pedals, or even players! The Eclipse’s EQ and gain structures mimic the dynamic range of a guitar amp, and pedal die-hards will be pleased with the Eclipse’s musical handling of dramatically different styles.
Many players place their light, low-gain overdrive on one channel and a lead-oriented distortion on the second channel, and that’s just one possibility! You could opt for rhythm and lead overdrive channels, pair a high-gain distortion with a colored boost, and beyond. Lastly, a rugged aluminum housing and a compact control surface make this one of the most pedalboard-friendly dual-dirt stomps around.
* Identical circuit and tone of the Original Eclipse Circuit.
SUHR: UNRIVALED IN CRAFTSMANSHIP
Suhr doesn’t just build handcrafted, boutique-quality instruments and amplifiers — the company creates exceptional tools that fuel musical dreams and artistic passions. John Suhr began crafting custom guitars in the mid-1970s, and by the dawn of the 1980s, he was building made-to-order Pensa-Suhr instruments for a who’s who of top musicians. In the 1990s, John collaborated with celebrated rig builder Bob Bradshaw to design the now-legendary CAA 3+ and 3+SE preamps and the CAA OD-100 amplifier. In 1997, after a stint as senior master builder for Fender’s Custom Shop, John founded his own company, a decision that enabled him to bring to fruition products of unrivaled quality, detail, and craftsmanship.
Today, the Suhr name is synonymous with prestige; a guitar, bass, or amplifier with the Suhr marque garners instant respect. With elite players such as Mateus Asato, Reb Beach, Scott Henderson, James Norbert Ivanyi, Andre Nieri, Pete Thorn, Ian Thornley, Doug Aldrich, and Andy Wood on the company’s roster, you can be certain that your Suhr places you in esteemed company.
