Developed under the direction of Gibson’s Master Luthiers, Gibson Flatwound Electric Guitar Strings start with a hex-shaped, tinned steel core for strength and are finished with a flat, stainless steel ribbon wrap. This construction leaves very little space in between wraps, producing a rich, mellow tone while reducing noise from finger movement. Used exclusively on all archtop guitars built in the Gibson Custom facility in Nashville, Gibson Flatwound Electric Guitar Strings are designed for smooth tone and a refined playing feel.
